Walgreens Test Market Matchups: 8/7 – 8/13

Are you new to Walgreens? You’ll want to read up on Walgreens 101 to learn about Register Rewards and Bonus Points (test market only). You should also review and print the Walgreens Coupon Policy and keep it with you.

.
This week was a crazy week.  As a result, the Walgreens TEST MARKET deals were not included with the regular matchup.  Below you will find the deals for those of you who live in the test market regions (Kansas City, Portland and Richmond).

Oftentimes you will receive points in lieu of Register Rewards. In order to help you know the value of your points, remember that you earn 10 points for each dollar spent (rounded down to the nearest whole dollar). In addition, it is important to realize that 400 points earned = $1 towards a $5 off coupon, as that reward costs 2,000 points.

I am in the Test Market area and I HATE the way they do the ads.. I end up going to CVS instead. With the rewards it seams like it is not as good deal as if we got the RR.. The points do not add up as fast either so it take a while to get 5.00 worth to print it..

    • Tracie says

Normally when I do the ads you actually SEE the difference. Once huge difference this week is Dr. Scholl’s – RR is $8 and we only get $5 (if we don’t use any coupons). I too do not care for the test market and shop CVS instead.

    • Tracie says

Jacque – these are only the the differences from everyone else……so the regular deals work, but I wanted you all to know what you will NOT get when you shop there. 😉

Shelly I agree. I usually only go after the few things with RR on them. I think you still get points on them as well. I am still learning with the pharmacies. The Schick razors and refills are only $1.49 after $2 coupon in today’s paper and $5 ecb. I got 4 Keri lotions, 4 crayons, 4 of the .29 scissors, 2 packs of 10 ct. Mechanical pencils .39 cents each and 2 peacho’s bogo. When I took my Rr versus paid I only spent 71 cents. Awesome score. Now I get to spend my $24 RR.

I hate the TEST MARKET deals too, call the 1-800-walgreens and tell them you want to leave feedback for the test market area and that you have been converted to being a CVS shopper because of the changes. Maybe if they get enough calls they will do away with it and not move forward knowing that nationally they will loose more business to CVS.

I have just started couponing and I HATE IT!! I didn’t even realize I was in the Test Market zone and I went to the store and spent way more money than I wanted to and realized later I didn’t get the rewards. I bought the Listerine Smart Rinse which was supposed to be FREE for the people who get RR, but it was $2 a bottle for me.

Did anyone else ask for a callback from senior management when they called to complain at Walgreens? I called now and they said I could get a callback from senior management and I asked them to call. I just was wondering if anyone knew what they would say. You know they say that the reason they changed over to the new rewards is people didn’t want to have to keep up with the RR, but you still have to keep up with your certificate and spend your time and ink printing it or wait to be mailed it. If they were really being concerned about the customers, they would just add the RR to the card and you would not have to worry about keeping the receipts. I am calling for a Walgreens boycott in these ares. If you have to keep shopping there, at least boycott all the items that don’t have RR. Let’s show these people with our pocketbooks that we don’t appreciate this!!!
