Are you ready for another weekend? Here are five things to do in and around Kansas City this weekend. Some of these are national, so you will want to check with the location nearest you to see if they are participating.

Scavenger Hunt
Kemper Museum, Kansas City
Saturday, March 20
10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Cost: Free
Hone your art detective skills and discover something new about contemporary art at the Kemper Museum. The third Saturday of each month is Scavenger Saturdays for families. Children with adults may pick up a self-guided activity at the Visitor Services Desk and follow the clues on this “ART-astic” adventure. Once you finish the activity, one may pick up a take-home, art-making activity kit. Head over here for more details. (Thanks KC Parent!)
Irish Jam Session
Irish Museum & Cultural Center, Lower Level, Union Station
Saturday, March 20th
1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Cost: Free
Come and sign, dance and just enjoy some wonderful Irish music. It may inspire you to dance a jig! Check out the details here. (Thanks KC Parent!)
Create a Sun Catcher
Bass Pro Shops Nationwide
Saturday, March 20th March 27-28 (sorry – I was off a week when I looked at this)
Beginning at 12:00 p.m.
Cost: Free (but while supplies last)
Head on out to Bass Pro shops and let the kids make a fun Sun Catcher. While you are there, you can get a photo of them with Easter Bunny (which I recommend to keep and display proudly when they bring home a love interest). You can find details and a location here.

Crayola Fun Day
Halls – Crown Center
Saturday, March 20th
10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Cost: Free
Bring the kids to the Crayola Store for fun, free activities all day long. If you happen to make any purchase of $25.00 or more, you will also get a FREE gift! You will also save 25% off of all Crayola themed apparel in the store. Check out the details here.

Reading Rocks
Plaza Library, Kansas City, MO
Saturday, March 2oth
10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Cost: Free
Jumpstart Kansas City presents the 7th annual Jumpstart Reading Rocks event! Children (preschool age to early elementary) will have an opportunity to participate in a variety of arts, crafts, and games. Join us and special guests Brother Bear and Sister Bear, of the Berenstain Bears. (Thanks KC Parent!)
These activities are in and around Kansas City, but I am sure there are things going on close to where you live too! Whatever you decide – just have a great time with your family!

I checked the Bass Pro Shop website for these events and it shows that these activities are next weekend (March 27 – 28). Everyone may want to check their local stores for exact event dates and times.
Gage Center in Blue Springs is having an event called Bouncing with the Bunny tomorrow (Saturday) from 9-11 am. I think they’ll have an Easter Bunny to greet the kids and a craft, and kids can bounce around the gym. It’s free and I’m thinking my 2 year old is going to love it!
