Thanks for visiting!

I was recently contacted by Tony’s Pizza and asked if I would like to join their Smart & Savvy Supermom’s Team.  I of course told them yes – because I’m a mom. I’m savvy.  And I’d like to think that I’m pretty smart!

So, who is a Smart & Savvy Supermom?  She is someone who knows how to save money anyway she can – without cutting out the fun or what her family needs.  A savvy mom knows that an evening of family fun doesn’t necessarily mean a fancy dinner out, movies followed by hours at the arcade – which is all pricey.  She realizes that a quick and easy dinner followed by a water fight in the backyard, can be JUST as fun (and a whole heck of a lot cheaper).

Tony’s challenged me to see what we could do to have a fun evening in as a family and save money at the same time.  But of course, they helped with a fun package complete with napkins, plates, free pizza and even $25.00 to spend at Best Buy.  So, we took our supplies and were armed (and excited) to complete our challenge.

First of all, we picked up several pizzas for dinner.  I previously shared what our family thought of these pizzas (we were pleasantly surprised).  Then, since we don’t own a gaming system, we decided to pick up a movie and have a fun family movie night in.  Our daughter picked out Ratatouille.

In order to make our evening special, we had to do something out of the norm.  So, we let all 3 kids eat their dinner on the floor in the family room, so they could enjoy the movie (yes, I sometimes think I must be insane).  It was so much fun to see them get excited to something that would “break the rules.”  They all gobbled up their dinner and really had fun watching the movie (well, except my 21 month old, she left to go play with some books).

It was great for us to just do something as a family.  For us, family is important.  We know that it is a matter of doing something together and not about spending money – just to have fun.  We improvise a lot and use what we have here, and just enjoy watching our kids grow up.

Tony’s wants to challenge you all to be Smart and Savvy Supermom (and Dads, Grandmas, College Students, etc).  They will also help you create your OWN fun family night.  They are going to give one of my readers the same package I received:   You will get:  Plates, Napkins, Pizza Stones (2), Pizza Cutters (2), Apron, several coupons for FREE Tony’s Pizzas and a $25.00 Best Buy Gift Card (value of $250.00).   One entry is required, but you can also pick up some bonus entries.  Be sure to leave a separate comment for each entry as if they are combined in one comment, it will count as only one entry.

REQUIRED ENTRY:

1.  What is your favorite free (or inexpensive) thing to do as a family?

BONUS ENTRIES:

My favorite thing is to go hiking with my son & hubby–it’s a good cardio exercise and you feel better too. :)
