Time for a new feature here at Penny Pinchin’ Mom! I know that many of you have seen Menu Plan’s for Monday, but I shop on Saturday, so I need to know what we’ll eat before Monday morning. So, every Saturday at 9:00 a.m., you’ll be able to check in and see what I’ve got on the menu for this week. We will eventually add a way for everyone to share recipes right here, but until then, you’ll just have to click the links that I’ve provided.
Now, before we get started, there are some forms that you might want to download/save/print in order to make your menu planning and shopping a whole lot simpler. First of all, I have created a Weekly Menu Planner. This form will hopefully help you better plan what you will eat each day of the week. It also includes a space for you to indicate where you found the recipe (i.e. my website, a certain page number of a cookbook, etc).
The second form you may wish to print is a Weekly Shopping List. You will find this list broken down into the same categories I use for my weekly deals. There is also a check box so you can mark items off as you toss them into your shopping cart. I’ve even added a “Q” next to each line item. Simply circle this if you have a coupon for that product, so you don’t forget to use it when you head to checkout.
Finally, I’ve actually teamed up with a great website called TheMomsResource.com which can also help you come up with some new recipes to serve your family. You will find her Penny Pick here each week. Not only will you get some great ideas, her meals are planned around the weekly ads (Kansas City region) which can help save you even more when you shop. Don’t worry, even if you don’t live in KC, you’ll still love her great ideas!
So, now, onto what my family will be eating this week. If the recipe is available on line, I have directly linked it for you. If it’s my own recipe, I’ve typed it below for you. Keep in mind that the meals I select are based upon a combination of what I might find on sale combined with items from our pantry/freezer.

Thanks Heidi! I hope that this helps busy moms and dads to get a better handle on what to cook and even those grocery store trips!
But, shopping your pantry before the store is essential to making this work!
Great Feature, it is going to be fun!

We have this ALL of the time Kellee — it is the best! We usually have some of the topping mix left over, so we’ll toss it with some red leaf lettuce and it makes a nice salad to compliment the chicken.
Ummm…this is wonderful and extremely helpful!!
