30 Days of Counting My Blessings: Day 1 – The Sun

I have been watching the television for days now and taking in the destruction and devastation facing those who live out East.  I can’t even imagine what they are all going through.  I have said a lot of prayers and realized how lucky I am that my family is safe.  It has also made me realize that I need to truly take stock in my own life and count my own blessings.

What better time of year to do this, when we are all preparing for the holiday on which we give thanks.  I am challenging myself to remember the good I have in my life by giving thanks to God each and every day this month.  Please join me in sharing the one thing you are thankful each day this month – I think it is important to look at the good in our lives when there is so much bad going on around us.

Day 1.  What am I thankful for?

I am so grateful that the sun shines on me each day.  The sun brings life to plants.  It warms me when the air is cool.  It gives my life light.  When it shines, my children love to run and play under it.  The sun brings out their laughter and joy of just being a child.  So today, I am thankful for the sun.  What are you thankful for today?

  1. I am thankful for the SON that God allowed to come on this earth to die for my sins. I am so unworthy, but God loved me so much that he sent his only begotten Son, Jesus, to give his life so that I can have salvation!
