My son wanted to do one thing and one thing only for a long period of time. There were days when my son was little that if I heard the words “monsta twux” again, I thought I would explode! Most days, I played along and we drove Grave Digger, Superman, and Captain America all over cushions, blocks, tables, and anything else we could turn into a track.
I was so excited when I had the opportunity to take both of my children to the Advanced Auto Parts Monster Jam show at the SprintCenter. I was also so thankful we brought ear protection, for all of us and not just the kids!! Man was it loud!
We all enjoyed the wheelie contest at the beginning of the show, and the “Sprocket” character was pretty funny at times. But the best part was when Grave Digger came out for some freestyle at the end of the night. My son’s eyes were huge. He cheered. He ooooed and ahhhhed and cheered some more. Just watching his face was enough for me, but I have to admit, I got into Grave Digger spinning out like a champion at the end as well. 😉
If you have a chance to take your family to an Advanced Auto Parts Monster Jam, I would only warn you to bring ear protection for everyone — and be prepared to have some good ol’ fashioned fun with your family!
