One of the simplest cakes to make (which nearly every seems to love) is pound cake. You can find a box mix and try to make it that way, but nothing compares at all to the way it tastes when you make it from scratch. The recipe is easy to follow and will take no time at all!
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sour cream
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
Prehat oven to 375. In a large bowl, cream together sugar, butter and sour cream. Slowly add in each egg and beat until fluffy. Add in the flour and baking soda. Mix until well blended.
Pour into a greased loaf pan. Bake at 375 for 55 – 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Top with whipped cream, berries or even powdered sugar.
