Credits for Reusable Shopping Bags

There was a time when I thought taking your own bag to the store was silly — after all – you were paying for the bags you got. Plus – I always recycled them, so it wasn’t any big deal. Well, now I actually DON’T pay for my bags!

If you use these, you’ve probably noticed that you can get a credit for using your own bag at places you shop. Here is a list of stores I know about and the credit you’ll get.

$0.05/bag – Target

$0.05/bag – Hen House

$0.05/bag – Price Chopper

$0.05/bag – Hy-Vee (some stores will and others won’t)

$0.05/bag – Safeway

$0.05/bag – Dillons stores (could be select locations)

$0.05/bag – King Soopers

$0.10/bag – Suflower Market (confirmed in CO)

$0.05/bag – Whole Foods (Olate — unsure if $0.05 or $0.10)

$1.00 in ECB at CVS for every 4th time you use your own bag (must purchase a tag at the store first)

If you aren’t sure if your store offers anything like this – be sure to ask. You just never know!!

I’m sure there are others out there that I’m not aware of. If you get a bag credit where you shop – please let me know!
