Eleven weeks!? Wow – where has the time gone!?! I don’t have a new Debt Free Challenge Lesson for this week, but wanted to just remind you all that you CAN do this! I’ve been there (as I shared with you all over the past few weeks). I have cried and celebrated. I have screamed I have laughed. I can’t promise you it will take only a few more months or that it will get easier. What I can promise you is how rewarding it can be.
The rewards are not just financial. My husband and I never argue about money (not that we did before – but it did cause us both undue stress). We discuss what we want to do with our money – because we are now in control of how we spend it. Our money no longer tells us where it needs to go.
We’ve been able to do some improvements to our home. We have our emergency fun funded. We are saving to take our kids to Disney. The best part of all – we have done it with cash. We do not even own a credit card. Nope. Not even one stashed away for a rain day. We truly live a cash life and it feels so great!
I tell you this to just help you stay motivated and to keep your eye on the prize. I want you to all live the way that we do. I want you to know that you CAN and you WILL do this!
I’m still keeping track of our eliminated debts. So, as you pay off a debt, please share with us. This form is done completely anonymously – there is not any way I can track it back to any individual person. This is of course completely optional, but I think it would be incredible to see how much debt is eliminated just by all of YOU by December 31, 2012! Head HERE to fill out the form.
I know that this is challenging – I’ve been in your shoes before. It is a lot of work and you may feel like just throwing in the towel time and again. Please DON’T! You have come so far and I know you can do it. So, keep on keepin’ on! You can do it! Before you know it, you will be able to shout “WE’RE DEBT FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
