Five Family Activities in Kansas City This Weekend – 9/4-9/7

This is Labor Day weekend – otherwise known as the last official weekend of summer. So, why not get out and do some fun things with the family as there is PLENTY going on in the city.

Santa-Cali-Gon Festival
Independence Square – Independence, MO
Friday – Sunday
9:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Admission: Free

You will find lots of craft booths, food, live entertainment and even a carnival for the kids — or grown ups for the kids at heart.

Kansas City Irish Fest
Crown Center – Kansas City, MO
Friday – Saturday
5:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Friday; 11:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Saturday & Sunday
Admission: $8.00 in advance, $10.00 at the gate (children under 12 are free)

This is an annual event that is full of delicious Irish Food, fun dancing, crafts, booths and lots of Irish heritage. You can check out all of the details right here.

Buck Night at the K
Kauffman Stadium
7:10 p.m.
Angels vs. Royals
Tickets: $9.00 – $23.00

Head on out the K and enjoy the newly renovated stadium full of family features. While you are there you can enjoy hot dogs and small soft drinks for just $1.00! When the game is over, sit back and watch the night sky turn into a glorious fireworks show. You can purchase tickets here, or at the gate.

Meet Toot & Puddles
Barnes & Noble – Independence Commons
10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Admission: Free

Bring along your cameras as your children see their favorite Noggin characters, Toot & Puddles, come to life before their vary eyes.

First Sunday Family Fun Day
Kansas City Museum – 3218 Gladstone
12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Admission: Free

You and your children can design and name a quilt block pattern, learn about quilt history and make a story to take home, and even listen to quilt stories. Find out more right here.
