Not sure what to do with the family this weekend?   There is one National event, so if you live outside of Kansas City, check with your local Chamber of Commerce for ideas in your own city.


Lakeshore Learning Centers

Midwest Kids’ Fest
Overland Park International Trade Center
August 21st & 22nd
10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Cost:  $5.00/person (or buy online for $4.00 each)
Details:  Come on out and enjoy lots of fun events for both Moms and Dads!  You will get to meet Scooby Doo, enjoy fun activities and if you stop by at 1:30 on Saturday, I’ll be there doing a short couponing class!  Get more information here.

Overland Park Convention Center
August 22nd
11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Cost: Free with donation on non-perishable food item to Harvesters
Details:  If you have a truck lover, then you will NOT want to miss this event.  Touch-a-Truck is celebrating it’s 50th anniversary this year.  You kids will get to enjoy fun events and meet firetrucks, tractors and even an ambulance up close and personal!  More information can be found here.

Sprint Family Fun Series
Power & Light Distrcit
August 21st
Cost: Free (parking is not free)
Details:  This weekend’s theme is It’s Easy Being Green!  You and your kids will be able to learn how easy it is to recycle at home and school.  You’ll be able to enjoy both a puppet and magic show as well as other fun activities.  Get more information by heading over here.

Cars in the Park

Cost: Free
Details:  Head on out and check out cars, trucks and motorcycles – all on display.  There will be concessions, activites and fun for the whole family!  Head here for more information.

    We also have Parkville Days here in Parkville. The carnival is here all weekend but they have lots of fun local vendors (including a friend of mine’s Art Angels)!! The Parade is through Parkville Saturday at 10. Just thought I would share.
