Five Things To Do This Weekend

Are you are ready for the weekend? It is FINALLY going to be a gorgeous one weatherwise here in Kansas City! I am sure we’ll try to squeeze in some outside time (between some colder showers) — but if you can’t do that – here are 5 ideas of things to do with your family!

Kids Workshop at the Home Depot Home Depot Stores Nationwide

Take the kids to Home Depot this weekend and make this fun rain gauge! If the weather forecasters are right – you’ll even get a chance to try it out on Sunday! Details can be found here.

Marble Crazy

Join in the 10th Annual “Marble Crazy” event! You can see glass artists demonstrate their techniques, buy directly from them and even see the “Marble Machine.” Check out more details here.

First Sunday Family Day
Kansas City Museum, 3218 Gladstone, Kansas City, MO
Sunday, March 7th
12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Cost: Free

Head on down to the Kansas City Museum and have some fun with the kids. You will be able to create your own family history journal, design a unique cave drawing, construct a story quilt to tell your family story and learn about how tattoos were used in some cultures. You can get more details here.

Come listen to Preston McClear’s fun story about the monster Giles! This is just one event you can find at your local Barnes & Noble Store. Head here to find one close to where you live.

US Air Force Band Concert
WWI Museum, Liberty Memorial, 100 W. 26th Street, KC MO

Enjoy a seven-piece group of talented musicians that performs in virtually every musical idiom, from jazz and country to contemporary and traditional patriotic songs. They feature the best in popular music from the 1940s to current sounds at the top of today’s charts. Part of the United States Air Force Band of Mid-America, Starlifter high-energy music transports its listeners to a higher plane. Doors open at noon, seating is first-come, first-served. This event is free to the public and will be held in the J.C. Nichols Auditorium at the National World War I Museum.
