Menu Plan Saturday: 7/31 – 8/6

Are you ready for another Menu Plan Saturday?  Before you look at what I’ve planned for my family for this week, be sure to download/print your forms:

Weekly Menu Planner.  This form will hopefully help you better plan what you will eat each day of the week. It also includes a space for you to indicate where you found the recipe (i.e. my website, a certain page number of a cookbook, etc).

Weekly Shopping List.  You will find this list broken down into the same categories I use for my weekly deals.  There is also a check box so you can mark items off as you toss them into your shopping cart.  I’ve even added a “Q” next to each line item.  Simply circle this if you have a coupon for that product, so you don’t forget to use it when you head to checkout.

If you want a few ideas other than those listed below, be sure to check out TheMomsResource.com.  Each week you can find her Penny Pick here — meals planned on sales in the Kansas City area. Don’t worry, even if you don’t live in KC, you’ll still love her great ideas!

So, now, onto what my family will be eating this week.  If the recipe is available on line, I have directly linked it for you. If it’s my own recipe, I’ve included the details as well.  Keep in mind that the meals I select are based upon a combination of what I might find on sale combined with items from our pantry/freezer.

I didn’t see a recipe for the Lemon Pepper Chicken or the Chicken Fried Steak and didn’t know if you had one or not. Thanks a bunch.

      Chicken Fried Steak:

      One Egg
      2 tbls Milk
      1 – 2 cups of breadcrumbs
      1 – 2 tbs oil
      1 – 2 minute steaks

Heat skillet with oil on medium setting. Mix milk and eggs (whip pretty good) in shallow dish. Pour breadcrumbs onto plate. Dip steak (both sides) into egg/milk mixture. Then, set both side onto the breadcrumbs until nicely coated. Repeat with egg and breadcrumbs. Cook on medium until nice crispy golden coating on one side and then flip. Reduce heat and cook until inside is no longer pink (may take around 10 min or so — need to check it).

I have to ask my hubby about the lemon chicken recipe — it is his and he is in the middle of something…..but I’ll get it up as soon as I can!
