Menu Plan Saturday: 7/17 – 7/23

Are you ready for another Menu Plan Saturday?  Before you look at what I’ve planned for my family for this week, be sure to download/print your forms: Weekly Menu Planner and Weekly Shopping List.  Each week I have one special recipe that is provided to me by The Moms Resource called – Penny Pinchin’ Picks!

If the recipe is available on line, I have directly linked it for you. If it’s my own recipe, I’ve included the details as well.  Keep in mind that the meals I select are based upon a combination of what I might find on sale combined with items from our pantry/freezer.

I’ll admit that this weeks line up is less than stellar, but it is so hot that the thought of cooking anything at all is not too appealing to me.  However, since my family feels they are entitled to dinner each night, I had to come up with some ideas.   Hopefully one or two of these are something you can use to help make your own menu plan a little easier to put together!

MENU PLAN

Sunday:   Spaghetti, french bread, salad
Monday:   Grilled burgers, hot dogs, fresh veggies, baked beans
Tuesday:   Chicken Salads (lettuce, grilled chicken and other salad toppings)
Wednesday:   BLTs with avacado and grilled peaches
Thursday:  Leftovers
Friday:  Eat Out
Saturday:  Chicken fried steak, red potatoes, fresh green beans, rolls

Thanks Tracie I so appreciate this. I stuggle each week with what to feed the fam. It is wonderful time too since my husband is traveling for two weeks and I tend to get lazy with the cooking while he is gone. The kids will definately eat better next week 🙂

I love this idea. I always cook a lot of extra because we have any where from 2 to 6 extra kids at the table on any given night. Also I would like to add that on days like Spaghetti. with the left over sauce I make lasagna the next night. Also on taco night, I cook the left over meat in enchiladas the next night. It works great to do things that way. I love it and it helps out with price of meals. You don’t go thru as much meat as you normally would.

You had me at AVOCADO!! I love the look of your Wednesday dinner. I might try that today…being that it is Wednesday afterall, and any excuse for avocado is an excuse for me 😉
Anyone else noticed how amazing the peaches are this year too?
