Menu Plan Saturday: 8/14 – 8/20

Are you ready for another Menu Plan Saturday?  Before you look at what I’ve planned for my family for this week, be sure to download/print your forms:

Weekly Menu Planner.  This form will hopefully help you better plan what you will eat each day of the week. It also includes a space for you to indicate where you found the recipe (i.e. my website, a certain page number of a cookbook, etc).

Weekly Shopping List.  You will find this list broken down into the same categories I use for my weekly deals.  There is also a check box so you can mark items off as you toss them into your shopping cart.  I’ve even added a “Q” next to each line item.  Simply circle this if you have a coupon for that product, so you don’t forget to use it when you head to checkout.

If you want a few ideas other than those listed below, be sure to check out  Each week you can find her Penny Pick here — meals planned on sales in the Kansas City area. Don’t worry, even if you don’t live in KC, you’ll still love her great ideas!

So, now, onto what my family will be eating this week.  If the recipe is available on line, I have directly linked it for you. If it’s my own recipe, I’ve included the details as well.  Keep in mind that the meals I select are based upon a combination of what I might find on sale combined with items from our pantry/freezer.

Sunday:   Spaghetti & Meat Sauce, Salad, French Bread
Monday:  Penny’s Pick (Roast, Homemade Mac & Cheese, Cobbler)
Tuesday:  Leftovers
Wednesday:   Grilled Chicken Breasts, Blanched Green Beans, Rice, Dinner Rolls
Thursday:  Baked Potatoes & Salads
Friday:  Grilled Burgers & French Fries
Saturday:  Leftovers

Blanched Green Beans

Fresh Green Beans (purchase about 6 – 10 per person)
2 Tbs Butter (guesstimate)
Light Salt/Pepper

Place green beans in a skillet with butter and seasonings.  Cook for around 5 – 10 minutes or until the are still firm, but not yet soggy.

Happy Dining!

thank you for all of this info…I subscribe to you on Facebook, and found this this morning. Anxious about “back to school, and back to work” this helps me get back on track since summer is almost over!

I am so glad to help! I know that this is a weekly thorn in my side too – so by posting it here, it helps me stay on track and helps others at the same time!
