If you have been following my site for a while now, you may have noticed a few changes have been made to the design. One of the first things I wanted to point out were the quick links to the grocery store and coupon databases! They are at the very top of the page and should be easy to spot. Here is what they look like:
We also streamlined the navigation menus to (hopefully) make it simpler for you to find what you need. All of the stores are under one title – stores, with drop downs for the drug, retail and grocery stores listed further. We’ve also got a section entitled Money Management where you can find ways to make and save money – including all of the articles I share about how to make the most of your money. Check out Frugal Living for DIY, family ideas, menus, recipes and more! The rest of the menu titles should be simple to understand and like I said, help you more quickly find what you want.
The changes are not only cosmetic, there are also changes with what I am bringing to you weekly. I am always looking to make sure that the content I bring to you not only helps people, but is worth the time it takes to complete them. You may or may not know this, but I have 2 assistants to help me with the matchups. Each store can take more than 1 1/2 to 2 hours to prepare each week. If the ad is large, it can take even more time than that. So, when it seems that the interest for stores is less than the time it takes to build th matchup, I have to determine if it is worth the time. Sadly, some of the stores I have been sharing just do not have enough interest. Starting this week, we will no longer provide these matchups:
Don’t worry, I am not going to leave you hanging! There are other stores who offer the matchups so if you really need them, you can still find the weekly deals:
I am also still tweaking our menus and hope to bring to you more money saving articles and even personal stories. We are not taking away any other stores. We will still share the coupons and the deals, however, it may not be as frequent as it has been in the past. As usual, we only share those that we feel are good and never anything shady nor questionable. We also don’t post the “sign up for a chance to win 1 of 100 free samples” as those are not worth my time nor yours. I do value your time as much as my own.
It takes a lot to run a site such as this. I am killing myself to try to post as much as I can to save you all as much money as I can. I just can’t do it anymore. There are sites who can, but some of them have full time assistants who work all day long. Others don’t have kids (or kids at home). That’s not me.
I have young kids. More importantly I have young kids who won’t be young forever. I want to enjoy them. I want to be there for them. When I look back upon my life when I am 75, I doubt I am going to say “I wish I’d posted a few more deals!!” No, I want to look back and say “I am so glad I was able to be there when my kids grew up.”
So, if you want one of those sites that posts 50 ore more deals a day, then you will just need to go elsewhere. I can’t and won’t do it. There is more to life than thousands of readers and making money. There is life itself. Sure, the more people who come to your site means there is more income potential, but at what cost? What are these sites who post that much every day sacrificing? I hope it is not much because I know what I have given of myself to get to this point. I am working to change things and to make sure that the focus is where it needs to be – on my family.
