Out Having Surgery Today

Some of you may recall in September, I had a visit to our local emergency room as I feared I was having a heart attack.  Thankfully – I wasn’t!  WHEW!!  However, I knew that waking up at 4 am thinking and feeling like I was having one was not normal – so something had to be going on.

So, my quest to figure out what was wrong began.  Of course, given family history and much research, I had a gut feeling (no pun intended) that it was my Gall Ballder  I found a doctor who was willing to listen to my concerns and worked with me to have me undergo the test necessary to rule it out.  Or, as it turned out, confirm that was what was going on.

That has led me to today.  I am at the hospital (as you read this), preparing to have it removed. Luckily, it is done outpatient and I should be home this evening, resting comfortably in my very own bed.

Don’t worry – there are STILL going to be lots of deals today.  That is the beauty of the internet and “connections” — being able to know information that I can pass along to you.  Since we are down to the last few shopping days before Christmas, we will see some more great deals coming your way.

Not only did I share my “inside information” — I’ve also got “my elves” giving me a hand today as well.  If you are looking for other great sites to help you save money, you might want to check these ladies out:

  • She Saved
  • Passion with Savings
  • Frugal Coupon Living
  • Saving Cents with Sense

Now, make sure that if you visit these sites – you come back and see me again soon! LOL!!  I’ll be back posting on Tuesday and none of you will probably even know I was gone (or even have a chance to miss me). Take care – and if you pray, maybe say one for me this morning.  God Bless!

Good Luck! I had my gall bladder out exactly a year ago today. It was a fast procedure. Be sure to pay attention to avoid fats the first few days. I was able to bring them back in to my diet relatively quickly but try to avoid them for a couple of weeks or so.

Had the same surgery a year ago. Was home by noon, back to work in 3 days. I remember my dad having his gall bladder out over 20 years ago and it was a huge operation and several weeks of recovery. So glad medical science has come this far.

Hope your recovery is just as quick….

Sorry to hear that you have to have surgery, but at least you know what it is and it can be fixed! Get lots of rest! Let hubby and kids take care of you – that does not happen often enough – so enjoy it!

  20. Lindsay says

I hope you recover quickly! I had mine out about a year and a half ago and it was no biggie. All better within a week for sure, probably less. Hope you are good as new in no time! Take your time and take care of yourself!

  21. ali says

Definitely thinking happy thoughts and praying for you. You have changed our lives dramatically and put us on the right financial path–we are so grateful!

  22. Krista Boutilier says

I had my gall bladder out about 7 yrs ago and also had 2 c/s. Make sure you take it easy and get lots of rest! Take any extra help you may get and don’t over do it! If someone volunteers to help, let them because if you say no, they may not ask again! 😉 Hope your surgery went well and praying for a speedy recovery! (I wasn’t so fortunate for a few day recovery. I wasn’t back to work for 2-3 weeks so if you take a little longer getting back into the swing of things, don’t worry. Everyone heals at their own pace. I didn’t have any complications or anything either. Just didn’t want you to get a sugar-coated picture, but just the truth that I wish people would’ve told me.) God bless!
