Pizza Hut has always been involved with helping kids learn the importance of reading. They’ve had the Book It! program for many years. In fact, The Pizza Hut BOOK IT! program is the longest running corporate literacy program in the country. I can remember my sister even being involved in this when she was young. As happens, it is sometimes a good idea to change things up and try something new.
The Give Me 20 Challenge is a new program designed to get kids to commit to reading 20 minutes a day for eight weeks. Families and classrooms who can meet the challenge can enter to win one of 50 The Very Hungry Caterpillar prize packages. You can read more about this program here.
My kids each read for 20 minutes every day (well, my husband and I do the reading with our younger kids). They really have a love of reading and are thriving in school. So reading really helps instill a love of learning.
