A few weeks ago, I shared with you our need to update our children’s bathroom. You can read more about that here. In anticipation of our upcoming project, my husband and I headed out to The Home Depot to do some shopping during their RENEW YOUR BATH promotion.
Before we left, we made sure that we were completely prepared. We took measurements of our current vanity and medicine cabinet, so we we sure to purchase the correct size. Of course, turns out, our vanity is not a vanity at all, but rather a kitchen cabinet which our builder “assumed” would work well in a bathroom. News flash – it doesn’t!
When we got there, we headed to the vanities that were on display. They had some gorgeous vanities and counter tops – but unfortunately, our store was out of stock in the size we needed. So, we checked out those that they carried in stock. Luckily, we found some products that we loved!
The biggest investment was our vanity. We knew that our requirement was 3 drawers, storage space and the correct wood finish. We also know that the size could not exceed the 32″ of our current “vanity.” Since vanities come in standard sizes of 30″ or 36″, we knew it meant we’d purchase one that was 30″ (since going custom was out of our price range).
One sales team member met up with us immediately and helped us through the entire process. Even the indecisiveness of us selecting our countertop. He was so helpful and knowledgeable — just a great guy!
Let’s get onto the FUN stuff!! Here is the vanity cabinet that we purchased today:
Of course, what is a vanity without a counter and sink? We had a hard time deciding what to purchase, but eventually went ahead with our first instinct, which was granite. Here is the one that we bought:
So, that takes care of our vanity requirements – and even the non-matching fixtures! We’ll share the rest of our purchases and how they fit into our bathroom plan very soon! Stay tuned as we work on our project this spring — you can pull your hair out right along side of us!
If you are looking at renovating your bathroom, I’d definitely take time to check out The Home Depot experts – especially right now with the Renew Your Bathpromotion. These guys are SO knowledgeable and extremely helpful! What we feared would be a stressful experience was so pleasant and actually a WHOLE lotta fun!
