You don’t need to know how to decorate cakes or cupcakes to make these adorable little Spring Chick Cupcakes! Seriously, when it comes to cakes and cupcakes, I really want to be able to decorate them prettily, but most times it doesn’t turn out how I want. These are simple. I promise!
Another thing I really like about these cupcakes is that there isn’t a ton of icing on each one. Cupcakes can be so overfilled with icing once they’re decorated, that it’s nice to have a decorated cupcake that isn’t overloaded.
Wide mouth icing tip
Multi-Color pearl sprinkles
Orange dot sprinkles
Lemon or yellow frosting
Black food coloring or icing
White cake mix
Make your cupcakes as directed on the box. Allow them to cool to room temperature before you begin to frost them. Use a piping bag, and a wide mouth frosting tip, and fill it with the yellow frosting. Hold the tip against the middle of the cupcake, and gentle squeeze until you have a gat little chick body. Then place the frosting tip on the top of that fat chick body, and repeat the same steps to make a cute little chick head. Think of it as building a spring snowman.
Use two or three orange pearl sprinkles to make each little foot. I used the flat, round orange sprinkles for the nose, and just used scissors to snip out a little triangle. I just gently pressed it into the frosting. Use a toothpick and dip it into the black food coloring or black frosting, and make tiny black circles for the eyes.
That’s it! That’s all it takes to make the cute little chick cupcakes! They’re adorable, and so very fast and easy. My favorite kind of holiday dessert! I hoipe you enjoy making these cute Spring Chick Cupcakes!
