I was able to easily log on and get several free books downloaded in a matter of minutes.  It will stay charged for 7500 page turns!  WOW!!

Dads Rock Giveaway #7: Corel Digital Studio Software

Corel has a new software Package called Digital Stuido 2010.    I will admit that I use Corel Paint Shop Pro, so I wasn’t sure what this package could offer that I didn’t already use.  For me, I was most interested in the movie creator.  So, I took a shot of my children playing (nothing fancy) just to see what this software could do.   It was really easy to navigate and create a quick movie.  It was pretty easy to figure out how to make a fun little movie, with just a few clicks of your mouse.  When I  did have a question, I was able to go through the help screen and quickly and easily figure things out.

You can also use this software to easily edit your photos.  I was able to quickly remove red eye from many photos in a matter of a few clicks of my mouse.  Once I was done creating my video and photos, I loved how easily I could share them.  I was able to upload them directly to Facebook, Flikr and YouTube.  I was even able to email them to my mom (which always makes her smile).   In fact, if you’d like to see my creation (and have about a minute or so), you can check it out:

I Love Inns offers a unique idea.  They have a book with hundreds….and I mean hundreds of Bed & Breakfast Inns around the country.  The one thing that impressed me was that the book was divided by State, so it made it really easy to find a location either close to us or we could find a city we plan to visit.

Dads Rock Giveaway #5: Thompson’s Deck Cleaner & Water Seal Gift Package

Thompson’s Water Seal recently sent me some products to try on our deck and fence.  I received a case of Thompson’s Water Seal Oxy Foaming Action Exterior Multi-Surface Cleaner and a case of Thompson’s Water Seal Advanced Tinted Wood Protector in Honey Gold.  Much to husband’s chagrin, I was pleased to get this product as our deck is desperate need of cleaning.   (No – that is NOT my deck in the photo – but OH how I wish it were)!

This Oxy Foaming Action Cleaner actually cleans off dirt and mildew from many surfaces including concrete, wood, composites and even more!  Then, once the deck, fencing or other wood structure is cleaned, you can seal it with the Thompson’s Water Seal Wood protector.  What is great is that you don’t have to wait days between your applications.  You can clean your area and within 2 – 4 hours you can put down your protector and kick out your job in (hopefully) one afternoon of work.

I have to admit that until I got involved in the Dads Rock Giveaway Bash, I had not heard of Otterbox.  But let me say this – I am SO in love with this product!  In case you don’t know much about OtterBox, they sell phone cases for several phones including Blackberry, iPhone and many others. 

I received my cases and was excited to open and get mine put onto my Blackberry.  First of all, I noticed that the case was so easy to put onto my phone. I had it on my phone in less than 30 seconds.  I had a little problem with the plastic screen cover.  When I tried to pull of one of the stickers, “sticker residue” remained and so I couldn’t use it.  But, to be honest, it didn’t bother me.

I have already learned what this cover can do.  I have dropped my phone a couple of times and the case took the brunt of the fall and my phone was not damaged at all.  I also can still easily lock my phone, access my camera, take photos and charge…all without any issues of the cover getting into the way.  If you’ve got a phone, you’d love an OtterBox!  The prices are really reasonable for the product you are receiving – and they would make a GREAT Father’s Day gift!!!
