Ten Free Apps For Kids

My kids are always looking for new apps.  Of course, they know that Mom and Dad won’t just let them download anything.  While we don’t mind paying for one once in a while, we prefer those which are FREE because it seems that interest is fleeting.  We don’t want to spend money on something that they may not play with for very long.  Here are ten great free apps which might be a good fit for your kids!

Pocket Frogs allows kids to collect trade and breed new frogs in customizable habitats.
Available on iTunes and Google Play.

pbs kids

My four year old loves this app – PBS Kids!  She can watch videos for all sorts of PBS Kids shows.  Much better than using YouTube to find them!
This app can be found in the iTunes store (not available for Android devices).

art of glow

Art of Glow is a fun way for kids to draw pictures with their finger — but with a sense of style!
This app can be found in the iTunes store as well as Google Play.

Phone 4 Kids is another one my kids love.  This app contains several apps for your kids including letters, drawing and making pretend phone calls.
This is only available in the iTunes store at this time.

Shapes for Toddlers is another one my kids enjoyed when they were younger.  Great way to teach kids all about shapes.
Available on iTunes and Google Play.

Checkers is a fun way to spend the time when waiting to get in to see the doctor or dentist.
You can find a version on both iTunes and Google Play.

MadLibs can be a lot of fun for kids of all ages!
Find a version on iTunes as well as Google Play.

sushi monster

Sushi Monsters is a math app which is perfect for kids around ages 7 and up.
At this time, it is only available through iTunes.

BrainPOP Featured movie brings learning to your finger tips.  Watch a video and then test your knowledge by taking a quiz.
Available both on iTunes and Google Play.

Hill Climb Racing challenges your knowledge of physics.
Download it on iTunes or Google Play.

There are so many great free apps for kids available for download.  Which are some of your favorites?
