The Holidays are About Giving

The holidays are about more than just exchanging gifts with family and friends. For our family, it is about giving. We actually adopt a family each year and purchase gifts for the family, provide them with household needs and throw in a gift card to help pay for their holiday meal.

If you can’t adopt a family, there is Toys for Tots, Angel Trees and donating to the Salvation Army. These are all such worthwhile ways to pay it forward this year…..especially since there are so many more families in need than ever.

I was contacted by Kristi from More Than Cents about this topic earlier today. She is partnering with some other couponers and readers and adopting a family. They want to provide them everything from the presents up through Christmas dinner. That part they know they want do to. What they need help with is finding that family who needs help. That is where you all come in.

If you know of a family who needs help this holiday, please email me at tracie@kcpennypinchinmama.com and let me know who they are, how many members and why you think they are most deserving. I will provide the list to my husband and he will choose one lucky family for me to nominate. Please be prepared to provide us with more information about the family including clothing information, ages and maybe that one “special gift wish” for this holiday. I will contact you back via email to let you know that your family was selected.

I need for you to have your submissions to me no later than December 14th so that we can make the selection and provide an updated list to Kristi by the 16th.

I know that I have generous readers who love to give and help others….so I am sure that my email is going to be overflowing with amazing stories and nominations. If anyone else is interested in joining this cause, you can also let me know and I can get you in touch with Kristi so you can help too.

Thanks and God Bless!
