Trader Joes: New to Kansas City & Upcoming Matchups

This post may contain affiliate links. Please see my full disclosure policy for details.

If you live in Kansas City, you are probably aware that Trader Joe’s recently opened two new stores (8600 Wark Parkway, Kansas City, MO and 4201 W 119th in Leadwood, KS).  I’ve had a few of you ask some questions about shopping there and so I’ve tracked down the answers for you below:

  1. What is their coupon policy?  Very basic — if they carry the product, they accept the coupon.  That includes internet printables.
  2. What brands do they carry?  Most of what they have on the shelves are store brand products.
  3. Do they specialize in organic or whole foods?  While they carry many of these products, their inventory is not limited to this type of food.
  4. Do they offer sales?  Since the prices are already very low, they do not have sales.

So, what about coupon matchups you ask?  Starting soon you will see the matchups posted right here on Penny Pinchin’ Mom.  They will come to all of us courtesy of Healthy Life Deals.  I have made it simple and you will also be able to quickly find the Trader Joe’s deals directly from the main menu (click on Grocery Stores and you will see them in the list).

I can’t wait to use my Trader Joe’s Gift Card when it comes in the mail. I got it from the Plum District deal 🙂 Excited for you to be doing match-ups.

My ultimate goal is to keep adding more store that are in Kansas City. I have links to various other stores in the coupon database right now, so you can check that out and see if that store is listed.

Thank you Amanda! I try my best to get everyone here as much information as I can to help everyone save money!

That’s great, but it would be really, really, really helpful if you were actually visiting the stores yourself and getting back to us. Every Trader Joes is so different – even if it’s only a few hours away in St. Louis. I don’t want to drive that far just to find out they don’t even have it in the local stores, you know?

    • Tracie says

I don’t have time to do that Erin. I am only one person, so this is better than nothing, right?! 😉

  3. Corrie says

Thank you! I’m so excited to check it out…even though neither location is very close to me (Northlander). I appreciate you including it for match-ups!

  4. Amy A says

I’d be willing to check out the Ward Parkway TJ’s store and list match-ups. It’s close to me, but I really don’t know how to get started w/ that… Anyone know how to get into creating match-up lists??

I am looking for the woman that sold me a ton of boys cloths size 8. You live in Lees Summit by the College. You told me about this web site and you also told me you had winter cloths and asked me if I wanted to look at them I denied. Big mistake! I hope you read this and remember me. I would love to contact you to buy cloths from you from now on. Please email me; my name is Rachel

I was in trader joe’s today and i wanted to get Ezekial bread. It was $3.99 and at Whole foods it is $2.36. I expected you to have it for less than wole foods. A lot of other things were more than I could get it elsewhere. I was disappointed.

I am not Trader Joe’s. If you want to share your feedback with them, you will want to contact them directly.
