Do you have a Walgreen’s for dummies post? I keep seeing the deals, but I’ve not been brave enough to try it. CVS was tricky enough! Since I have a handle on that, I’m considering branching out just a bit.

    Thanks & Happy New Year!!

At the very top of the post there is a small box. Within that box is a link to Walgreens 101 – hopefully this helps!

I’m such a ditz that it’s painful sometimes. As much as I’m on this site, one would think I would know considering that’s where all the other 101’s are. I was looking in the FAQ’s.

Maybe I should sleep before I try this. 🙂

    Thanks so much!!

I am also ready to give the test market a try – does anyone know- how many points does it take to get a reward? Just trying to measure if it is worth my time to go to multiple stores. Thanks!

  4. Corrie says

I did some Walgreens shopping today, and here are some things I found:

The $5/1 Oscillococcinum coupon in the Walgreens coupon booklet did not work for me, as it is for the adult version, and the sale is on the children’s version. Also, I had a $2/1 manufacturer’s coupon for the children’s version (from a PDF someone above posted), and it did NOT work for me at one store, but DID at another. So the medicine was free after RR at one store, and it was a $2 money-maker at another.

The Nivea men’s shave gel is at a separate display from the other shaving products, and there is a $1 off coupon at the display. So, after RR, it is basically free (actually a $0.01 money maker!).

The Coffee Mate creamer that is on the deal is the liquid only, not powder (the powder rings up regular price at $2.99 each, no B1G1 deal). But it is a good deal on the liquid, if you have the online $1/1 coupons.

I guess KC is a test market, because most of the deals were for “Points,” not RR, which I think stinks, because I don’t know how the points work. I just wanted RR so I could turn around and use them on another immediate transaction. Also, the Walgreens in my area (northland KC) were poorly stocked, poorly staffed, and the employees were more confused than I was by their own advertisements. I will be sticking to CVS in the future.

But thank you, Penny Pinchin’ Mom, for all your efforts here!
