A day or so ago, I share some information about Walmart accepting competitor’s coupons. The comments/response has been overwhelming. It seems that some store DO accept them, yet others will not. I was actually lucky enough to have a Walmart representative email me with some clarification on this issue. Here is what she said:
There have been some questions about Walmart’s coupon policy and I wanted to offer some additional details. To clarify, Walmart will continue to accept all valid manufacturer and print-at-home internet coupons with a scannable bar code. In addition, Walmart will also match the price listed on any valid competitor coupons that include a printed retail price for a specific item (e.g., $2 for a 24 oz. bottle of Clorox). We apologize for any confusion.
For further details, please see our price match and coupon policies online:
So it appears that they will not accept a competitor’s coupon that lists only a discount (such as $0.50/1), but rather lists the items price (such as you see many times with Walgreen store coupons).
