Want To Lose Weight or Get into Shape? Join Me in My 30 Day Shred!

OK, so I realize that I am not getting any younger.  While I am not overweight, I certainly could stand to get into better shape.  I want to feel better and just be healthier for myself and my family. 

I was visiting with Keri Lyn at She Saved and she shared with me that she and Jaycie with Coupon Geek had decided to do Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred together.  After all, when you work as a team, you have accountability and are more apt to do it.  I have caught up on their posts about trials and triubluations with the program, but they both admit that it is making a difference.

I was also speaking with some other bloggers and so, we’ve all decided that we too should get into shape and shed any unwanted pounds.  Not only are we doing it — we are inviting all of YOU to join in with us!  We’ll have this great 30 day Shred event across several blogs.  We can all check in, report how we are doing and help one another stay on track!

    I found my copy at cargo largo several months back…it is still in the wrap…time for the wrapper to come off so that the pounds I want to lose can come off. I’m in!

    In addition to the DVD itself, you need decent shoes and some hand weights. I also like using my yoga mat as it provides better traction for staying in plank position than just being on the carpet.

    I’m TOTALLY in! I have tried to do this on my own and always find myself stopping for some reason. I, too, just need to get into better shape! This is such a great idea! Maybe it will work better this time around now that I can see others doing it also! Thanks! And good luck!

    ugh i thought this was a couponing website, not a diet program….i HATE gilliam michaels. Im all for getting healthy but NOT for losing weight for losing weights sake…some of us here are struggling with an Eating Disorder…and this isnt a diet website…..

      Erilyn – this is a site about saving money, yes. I don’t know what makes you think this is a diet site. One post about a challenge I am doing and inviting — yes INVITING people to participate in does not make this a diet or weight loss site.

      This is a way to engage people to do something other than deals. It gets redundant to see only deal after deal. Some of us like to do something different. My readers aren’t just readers to me.

      Just like deals, not all posts, giveaways and discussions are for everyone. You are absolutely welcome not to participate, but do not put down those who are interested in particiapting.

      Wow- I’m shocked at how insensitive people can be. Tracie runs an amazing blog that touches on deals, money saving tips (which being healthy is a HUGE tip!) and items that are significant to families. Everything doesn’t apply to everyone, but we don’t need to put each other down. Just don’t take part, or move on to the next post.

    This is someone’s personal blog as well as a site about saving money. The DVD is cheap and a great way to get in shape while saving money on it. Not all posts on all sites will be for every single person. I’m personally offended that you would attack Tracie over something like this. Don’t be discouraged Tracie. We’ll do this together girl!

    … I think that it is all about having balance…and that is what I love about your site Tracie… you cover all of the areas that lead to a happy lifestyle. And I love that this DVD is a totally economical way for ANYONE to stay get in / stay in shape. You know I’m in !!!

    I had chosen sept 15 (for no reason) to start a new work out routine… I think i’ll move it up a few days and join you all!!!

    I just got a 33 1/3% coupon in my email from Borders and they have the Shred in stock so I will be getting it for $8 tonight (after my 2 free appetizers from Houlihans and before my free movie at Studio Movie Grill!) I love how all you guys have helped me find tons of frugal stuff!! (Just ordered my $25 Melting Pot certificates for $2 online as well) Thanks!!!

    Aside from posting deals, many of us like to inject some of our personality and struggles in to our blogs. I routinely post recipes on my site…doesn’t make me a food blog.

    My readers aren’t just numbers to me, and I assume that Tracie feels the same way about hers. There is nothing wrong with sharing an economical way to lose weight and get in shape…and sharing that personal journey with our readers.

    I have been doing this DVD on and off for some time now, and let me say, it is the ONLY dvd workout I have ever done (and I’ve done a lot) that I’ve actually gotten results from. This is how I lost all my baby weight after I had my son. I’ve fallen off track the past few months and resumed this workout this week and I plan on continuing. Good luck to everyone, it’s truly an intense workout.

    On a sidenote, I am appalled at what Erilyn said. C’mon…

      Purchased this DVD a while ago because all my friends say it is so good. Yep, still has the plastic on it, but there is not time like the present. I am on Weight Watchers and need to increase my activity. I am in too. Think it is awesome of you Tracie to do things like this on your blog. I enjoy the more personal side of the bloggs I regularly visit. Keep up the great work:)

    I was just thinking about starting up a work out routine this morning. I’ve been hoping to train for a 5k, but keep getting sidetracked. Maybe this will help!

    BTW, if anyone can’t afford to buy the DVD, check your local library. That’s where I plan to get mine! 🙂

      Jenni, You CAN train for a 5k. I started training in May and ran my FIRST one last Sat at the Royals. I ran the whole time and even got 4 min FASTER than my practices. 😀 If I can do it, so can you! I’d suggest the couch-to-5k plan or something similar…just google it.

      Tracie, this is an intense workout and I did it for 2 weeks straight and then stopped b/c I was just too busy. I was also doing Zumba and running (and still am), so it’s not like I wasn’t doing anything lol. I would like to start this again, tho! I love your site! I think I’ve passed you in town twice now hehe. I usually run by Stonegate. Anyway, keep up the great work and good luck, everyone! <3

    This is a great idea to help motivate people! We tried P90X several months ago with a group- it helped a little to keep us motivated but was really intense.

    Also “in”! Such perfect timing. I’ve just gotten back into doing this as our church finishes out our Biggest Loser weight loss campaign- nice to have others doing it too so I can finish srong! My longest “streak” of doing the 30 Day shred is about 6 days… today I’m back to Day 1- it will be great to see posts and such to motivate me to see this beyond a week 🙂

    Was literally looking at the DVD sitting by the DVD player with dust all over it about 2 hours ago thinking I should be doing it instead of letting it just sit there. I have got to lose the weight from having my son…now that he is going to be turning one in two months. I am totally in!

    I AM IN! This is PERFECT timing for me. I just started a weight loss blog with my sister (http://sheaintheavysheismysister.blogspot.com/) in an attempt to loose some baby pounds.

    I do go the gym usually but I have heard this is a great video and I cant wait to try it on the days I cant make it the gym! Just ordered it from Amazon (and used my swagbucks…great deal!!!)

    Just as an FYI…if you are looking for any other help I suggest using http://www.myfitnesspal.com/ to log in your exercise and food everyday (it’s free!). I am also doing a fitness challege on a blog called http://nutsinanutshell.blogspot.com/ where you try to rack as many points as possible over the next few months (by doing healthy things) and then if you reach 500 points by the end of if you can win free stuff! (FYI…I am not associated with either of these sites in anyway…I just use them and like them)

    I am in!!! I bought mine months ago and just opened it up this week. I did if for the first time on Wed….. I am SO sore!!! I haven’t done it again, but plan on it tomorrow when I have a little more time!! I need to get motivated!! I think this is great!

    Ok, i’m not in because i’ve done this workout before… after the first 30 days i lost 16 pounds! Pretty good results! It’s an easy workout but i cannot look at that DVD anymore. it takes everything in me to do that workout for 20 minutes. I think level 1 is the only one that really kicks my butt. i am so sore afterwards. but level 2 and 3 seemed easier to me. good luck!

    Yes! I’m in, but I just saw this so now I have to hurry and get my DVD and then start in a couple days! If I know others are doing it I’m more likely to stick with it! I need Jillian to kick my butt!! 🙂

    Yes, I did level 2 today, day 1. Gonna do level 3 tomorrow. So much up & down gets me dizzy – anyone else have that problem? I feel like singing, Weebles wooble but they don’t fall down! Ordered the Shred with weights last week, can’t wait to get it.

    I’m in too! I got the dvd last week and have done it the past few days..I was worried at first about some of the “not being able to move for 3 days” But I have had a little ache but not bad…I love it! Thanks for doing this!

    I love this dvd! I’m glad your doing this challenge, I’ve done it on my own on and off but it’s hard to stick to it without motiviation and support, i think the longest I did it for was 2 wks, but i really noticed a changed from just doing it for those 2 wks!

    But yeah I’m in! getting ready to go do it right now 😀

    I started Day 1 yesterday…I know I am a little behind but better late than never, right?! I have about 40 pounds to lose and have heard wonderful things about Jillian Michaels..i recently joined her website and am “trying” to follow her food guideline! I am watching what I eat! No bread, potatoes, rice, etc. trying to count calories and choose wiser…but since Ive started working out, i dont crave those bad foods near as much as I used too!

    Well I am getting a late start. Just bought mine tonight and plan on starting tomorrow Oct 1st. I can keep up with those days better. I’m so excited. I would like to lose 30 lbs at least by the end of the year. so we will see.
