Wondering what to do in Kansas City this weekend? Here are a few things you can do as a family that are either FREE or CHEAP!

Head on over to Powell Gardens to see the Butterfly Festival. Be sure to get a stamp in your Passport while you are there! Here is a coupon for $1.00 off admission – however it is NOT valid for this weekend’s events. But print it and hit Powell Gardens later this fall again to see the gorgeous Missouri Foliage.

Your kids will have a great time at Kidscape at the Johnson County Museum of History. Here they will meet characters from past and present, design their own book and so much more! Admission is FREE!

Walk around the Farmer’s Market this weekend and pick up some great produce grown by local farmers and gardener’s. While you are there, swing into the Steamboat Arabia Museum — and if you happen to own an Entertainment Book for 2009 – you can find a discount of of your admission price.

You can even just have fun at home. Why not pitch a tent, light the bar-b-que and make some smores? Be sure to tell scary ghost stories and stay up late trying to see what constellations you can name!
