Aldi General Shopping FAQs
Does Aldi accept coupons? They do not. They may, however, offer a store coupon from time to time.
Is it true you rent the shopping cart? Yes – you do! It is only a quarter, which you use to unlock the shopping cart. When you are done shopping, put the cart back in the corral and you will get your quarter back! They do this to keep shopping costs down as they don’t have to pay someone to go gather the carts. As an added bonus, you don’t have to worry that your vehicle will be hit by a runaway cart.
Do they bag your items? They do not. You can bring your own into the store. Some people actually mention that they keep large crates in the back of their vehicle and/or trunk and roll their cart to the vehicle and unload them. If you do forget, you can purchase them in the store, or check for empty boxes to use instead.
Is it true they don’t sell name brand items? Yes and no. The majority of what they sell is private store label. That means it is made by a larger manufacturer, just has their name on it. This is another way that they are able to offer items at a lower cost to consumers (you aren’t paying the big name price).
Do they accept credit cards? Some stores now accept them, however, many do not. You can use a debit or EBT card or alternatively just use cash.
What if I do not like the store brand? Fortunately, Aldi offers a Double Guarantee. If you purchase something and do not like it, just bring it back to the store and they will not only replace it, they will also give you your money back!
Is this store available everywhere? You may want to use the store locator to find one near you. You can do so HERE.
