There is an important recall which may affect you. Brita is recalling more than 242,000 children’s Water filter bottles as the lid of the hard sided bottle could break, resulting in sharp points (which could hurt children). While 35 reports have been submitted, no one has been injured.
The products include Dora the Explorer purple bottle, Hello Kitty pink bottle, SpongeBob Square Pants blue bottle and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles green bottle. Each one has a clear (or white) lid. They are around 6″ tall and have a fold up straw and filter. The removable plastic wrap on the bottle at time of purchase has model number BB07. The following UPC codes were used: 60258-35883 on the Dora the Explorer, 60258-35914 on the Hello Kitty, 60258-35880 on the SpongeBob Square Pants and 60258-35882 on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
They were sold online at retailers such as Target and Amazon. You may have also purchased it at your local store — including — Shopko, Target, Walmart — and other stores.
If you find that you have one of these bottles, you are asked to stop using it as soon as possible. Then, contact Brita for a postage-paid shipping package to return the bottles for a full refund.
