There is new recall alert that you need to know about. Bumble Bee Tuna is recalling select canned tuna products.
The reason for the recall is due to process deviations that occurred in a co-pack facility not owned or operated by Bumble Bee. These deviations were part of the commercial sterilization process and could result in contamination by spoilage organisms or pathogens, which could lead to life-threatening illness if consumed. No illnesses have been reported at this time.
The included products were produced in February 2016. They all include a code on the can which starts with a “T” (i.e. TOA2BSCAFB) and the following Best Buy dates:
If you find that you have one of these cans of tuna in your home, you should throw it away and then you can call 888-820-1947 (9 am – 6 pm EST) to request a product reimbursement. You can read more here.
