One of our readers shared something with me today, which I wanted to pass along to you:
Hey Tracie. Just wanted to let you know that the Target Cartwheel discounts have been having problems this week (at least at my Target in Olathe). I was using multiple Cartwheel discounts, they scanned my ID but only my first item was given the discount. I did take my receipt back in today and I was told that this has been a problem since they had a system update about a week ago. They reluctantly calculated up my missed discounts and gave me my $8 I should have saved.
I appreciate Rhonda taking the time to pass this along to me so that I could alert all of you as to this issue! So, what should you do? Just follow these tips:
Keep a list of the offers you will redeem. While we all normally use our phones and don’t keep track of those we plan on using, it is important (at least for now), to make a note of the items you purchase and the Cartwheel you plan on using. That way, you can watch the register to make sure that the discounts are properly applied to your purchase.
Check your receipt before you leave. Take a minute to look over the Cartwheel offers you planned on redeeming and compare them to your receipt. If you find that your discount was not applied, head right over to Guest Services immediately. They should be able to give you back the discount you should have received.
Stay calm. Remember that the cashier or guest services member is not personally responsible for your discounts not being applied to your purchase. Treat them with respect, always. If you find that the situation is escalating, always ask to see a manager and discuss it with them.
