When it comes to deals, sometimes you might see one that doesn’t necessarily work for your family. However, it just might be something that would be perfect to donate to someone in need. I am not talking about clearing a shelf to donate products (shelf clearing is something I do not condone). I am talking about picking up a couple of items at the store and donating them.
For instance, this past week our local grocery store had Helper Meals on sale for $0.99 each. This is not a product we eat, but I know that it is very helpful for other families. I also happened to have a couple of coupons I would not be using myself. That allowed me to get them for just $0.49 each. Why wouldn’t I spend $2 of my own money to help someone else? It really isn’t that much. It doesn’t really hurt my personal budget and I also know I am giving to someone who may be struggling to put food on the table.
If you don’t even know where to start, just look around your community. Do you have a Ronald McDonald House? Do you have a women’s shelter? Do you have a food pantry? These are the types of organizations who are always looking for help.
Since there is no way for me to give a shout out to every one needing help right now, I wanted to give you all a chance to share. Just leave a comment below with your organization name, location (very important) Facebook and/or website. Please do NOT list your personal phone number or contact information. This is an easy way for me to get the word out and maybe help connect readers with charities. Thanks to everyone who emails me and know that I really do care and want to help!
