Upcycle those Mega Bloks into Alphabet Blocks! If your kids are like mine, they probably didn’t even play with the really BIG blocks like these ones nearly as much as you had hoped. We’ve created a fun way to use those old toys in an exciting brand new way!!!

Get out those old dusty Mega Bloks, dust them off and turn them into these fun alphabet blocks. This project is super easy and a great way to upcycle blocks once your kids have moved on to the next stage of legos.

Even if your kids still enjoy building with these blocks you can get them started early on their letters and watch as they build and learn.

Other fun ideas:

  • Fun Chalkboard Letters

MEGA BLOCK UPCYCLE

SUPPLIES

Mega Bloks
Silhouette Machine (or use vinyl letter stickers)
Black Vinyl
Rubbing Alcohol
Cotton Balls

DIRECTIONS

To start, wipe off all blocks with a little rubbing alcohol. This removes all dirt, grime, and oils left from those little hands.  A good cleaning ensures the vinyl will better adhere.

Using the Silhouette program write up all of the letters of the alphabet in capital letters. Use font IMPACT, font size 116, if you are using the same sized Mega Bloks as pictured. * The “W” needs to be in size 110 to fit on the block perfectly.  If you do not have a silhouette machine, you can use pre-purchased letters instead.

Weed the excess vinyl and transfer each letter to a freshly alcohol swabbed block. Viola – you have new alphabet blocks for your kids!!
