Tissue paper tassels are such a simple and affordable way to decorate for a party or any event.
I love decorating for parties. When you start buying all the decorations, it can get really expensive, really quickly! I like to try and make my own as much as possible, but I don’t want to spend hours and hours making items just to save money. These simple tissue paper tassels are cheap, fast, and easy!

You can find tissue paper for $1 at many stores (check out Walmart, Target and Dollar General). One small package will result in about 10 – 12 total tassels. So, keep that in mind when making your purchase.
To being, lay your tissue paper out on a flat surface. Stack all of the sheets on top of one another. Cut the shorter side into 1″ thick strips. Don’t worry if they are even or not – as that is what makes them fun! Cut several strips — as many as you will want to add to your string. The more you cut, the larger the tassel.
Once cut, line them up together and fold them in half. Tie string around 1/2″ – 1″ down from the fold. You will want to secure the string, but not too tightly, as that will either tear or scrunch the tassel.
Add the tassels to string or a banner. Now you’ve got a fun decoration idea for your next party or get together!
