October isn’t even here yet, but it is the perfect time to make sure you are on track for your holiday spending 2012! There are a few things you should do right now so that you are ready when the deals start flying in November! It will be fun, the deals will be fast and furious, but you really can save some money!! Here are my five tips to help you get ready for your holiday shopping!!!
Sign up for Retail Newsletters. If you plan on shopping online go ahead and sign up for company emails and newsletters. They will email you when there are good deals and coupon codes, so you will know right away in your inbox. This can help you get that deal you have been waiting for.
Layaway. This use to be a thing of the past, but it has made a comeback. This is a great way to get the items you want, even if you don’t have the cash immediately on hand. Stores like KMart and Toys R Us do not charge layaway fees, but others do. Just make sure you know the costs before you sign up.
Check your budget. While it is best to save all year long, if you haven’t yet done so, it really isn’t too late. Even $20 a week saved between now and December can put a little extra spending cash in your pocket. Just make sure you know what you have available to spend (don’t go into debt just for gifts).
Make your list now. We are starting to see some good deals coming up. If you already know who you need to buy for (and what the budget is), you can grab these deals as they come up, which can save you money in the long run.
Don’t stress. Whatever you do for the holiday season, remember that it is about family rather than “stuff” — just keep your focus on that and you’re bound to have a great holiday season this year!
