I am always doing what I can to help readers save money and keep track of those savings. It occurred to me that I did not have a great tool for all of you to use, so I took to sitting down and coming up with something! I did a lot of research and asked some people questions to ensure that I covered everything you might want to track on an annual basis.
I am happy to announce the FREE Penny Pinchin’ Mom Savings Tracker Tool is here!! You will be able to track:
BUDGET
Know how much you have budgeted and how much you have left to spend. You can even see your overall annual budget and spending on the Year-To-Date page.
OVERALL SPENDING
Easily see how much you actually spent at the store (out of your pocket).
COUPON SAVINGS
You can now track the total you are saving with those coupons (store and manufacturer), ExtraBucks, Register Rewards and more! You can actually see this total by month and by year.
STORE DISCOUNT
In case you want to see this as well, you will be able to track the discounts the stores offered with in-store offers. Again, track this monthly and annually.
OVERALL SAVINGS and PERCENTAGE
This is the fun one! You will be able to see the total you would have spent in the store if you had not used coupons — and it even puts this into a percentage for you! Now, you can easily see what percentage you saved at the store on every single shopping trip.
REBATES
So many times you purchase something that has a rebate you need to submit and then forget about it. Use this column to make a note that you need to send one in and even update it with a mailed date, so you can track your rebates.
NEW ECB, RR, CATLINAS (and more)
So often, you receive these with your purchase, but you may forget to use them. Jot them down here so you remember to check the expiration dates so you use them before they are no longer valid.
Now that you know what the sheet will do for you, how do you get one? It is simple! Below you will find the link to download this. If you do NOT have Excel, do not worry. You can open this in Google (for free):
- Go to Google Drive.
- Click on Create and select Spreadsheet.
- One the blank spreadsheet opens, click on File and then Import.
- Select this file from your computer.
- It will upload and then you can edit directly on Google!
I hope this helps you on your savings journey!!!

Thanks for the budget tracker. I am trying to get my family back on track with our finances and I hope that this helps. I love your website and all your posts on facebook. I also want to try the cash envelope and am trying to talk my husband into it. Thanks for all the advice!
