I love spending time in the kitchen with my kids. While they love to whip up a batch of cookies, I like to find fun and creative treats we can make together. I wanted to find something different they could make for our July 4th party. I had seen images of Watermelon Rice Krispie treats and thought it would be fun to try ourselves.
When doing some research, I found some people flavored their treats with watermelon. I knew my kids would not like that, so decided to leave them plain. We just used food coloring to make them look the way we wanted. So these treats taste like the original Rice Krispie treats – they are just a fun color and design!
And, while we are on the top of watermelon, you’ll want to also whip up a batch of these watermelon sugar cookies for a complete watermelon themed snack!
