I am always on the lookout for places families can travel that are both nice and affordable! When you’re on vacation, or on a trip, the last place you want to stay is somewhere that’s cheap, but it also run down and dirty. It can be hard to know which pictures tell the truth, and which Google reviews can be trusted if you’ve never visited a hotel or resort in person. Recently I had to opportunity to stay at Grand Seas by Exploria Resort in Daytona Beach, Florida and you would not believe how nice this place is for the price!
Our first view as we walked into our poolside room, was the living room with a gorgeous view leading out to the golf course. There’s a nice hi-def TV in the living room with plenty of seating for the whole family. The walls and doors were nicely insulated, and there was virtually no outside noise from the poolside that could be heard indoors.
The master bedroom was well-lit and very clean! It has an on-suite bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and a walk-in shower. There was also a nice sized closet, and another hi-def TV in this room!
Since we had two kids with us at our stay at Grand Seas Resort, we had a two bedroom condo. Bedroom two was just as nice as bedroom one, and also had a connected bathroom with a shower and a hi-def TV!
One of my favorite things about these rooms is that they have a full size kitchen! There’s an oven with a stove top, a microwave, a full sized refrigerator, a dishwasher and a full sink! The cabinets are all full of all the kitchen supplies you need to cook and eat. There were utensils, plates, pots and pans, and more! The full fridge really came in handy for leftovers, and fresh snacks. Since the beach is so close, it was nice to have sandwich stuff on hand so we could pop in from the ocean, eat a sandwich, and go right back out and play some more.
Enough about the rooms! The neatest things about Grand Seas Resort was the fact that they had SO MANY on-site activities for you to do as a family! All the activities are nearby and included in the price of your room, so you won’t incur any extra fees by taking part in all Grand Seas Resort has to offer. Mini golf was right outside our room, and we loved it! It was a full 18 holes, and overlooked the ocean! It was well-manicured, and was fun for all ages!
You can’t have a resort without a pool, and Grand Seas by Exploria Resort is in no short supply! Grand Seas Resort actually has four pools (one indoor, and three outdoor) as well as two hot tubs! All the outdoor pools are oceanside and have a beautiful view! There’s plenty of seating for those who want to sunbathe and not get in, or umbrellas for those who want some shade.
We spent a lot of time at the kiddie pool. It was pirate-themed and had a cute little slide. The water was very shallow, but was very clean. Both of our kids enjoyed playing and cooling off here!
If you don’t want to get wet, you can always take the kids to the on-site playground! This playground was really nice and had slides, and swings, and even a little picnic table in the shade! The best part, like all the activities at Grand Seas Resort, is that it looked out over the ocean. It was so nice and peaceful. Like a park on the beach.
The last, and certainly not least, thing I want to mention about Grand Seas by Exploria Resort are their awesome hotel keys. Yes, that’s a picture of a silicone bracelet, but it’s also the hotel key!! Upon check-in we were given two of these wristbands. They’re a soft, stretchy bracelet that’s completely waterproof. Since the hotel has so many pools, and has a walkout right out to the ocean, you have a lot of opportunities to get wet. These can be worn in water without any issues. On top of that, it made getting in the hotel, and keep track of the key SO much easier! When my hands were full, all I had to do was lean my wrist toward the door, and my hotel door unlocked! It was by far my favorite feature Grand Seas Resort offered!
So if you’re looking for a nice place to stay in Daytona Beach, Florida, look no further than Grand Seas Resort! They’re in the process of continuing to renovate the entire building, and are adding more amenities and fun things as time goes on! They have a full service restaurant that will be open soon, and I can’t wait to go back and try it! Click HERE to book your vacation!
