If you have ever requested a coupon or claimed any sort of an offer on Facebook, you were probably asked to allow the app to access your personal information. In most cases, this is perfectly normal and part of getting the offer to run properly. However, once you have received your offer, there is no need to allow the application any more access to your data. You can go into your account and actually remove these apps completely and here is how you can do just that!
STEP 1: Click on the Wheel at the top of your screen.
STEP 2: Click on Account Settings from that drop down menu.
STEP 3: Click on Apps from the next screen which comes up (see bottom of the menu list)
STEP 4: Look through the apps you have allowed to access your profile. You may want to leave some of them connected (like games or Pinterest, for example). If you see an app you do not use, simply click the “x” at the end of the row.
STEP 5: You will see another pop up box asking you if you want to remove the app. Make sure that you place a check in the box which asks you if you want to delete all of your activity for that app off of Facebook. Then, hit the remove button.
That’s it! You’ve just removed the app from your account. You can do this with any other apps you might have run so you can clean up your account and limit access to your account settings.
Make sure you share this with your family and friends so that they can clean up their apps too!
