I headed off to Price Chopper this evening in order to cash in on the great deals that matched up with the coupons I had found. It was great to toss things into my cart and know that I was paying less than $1.00 for most of them!
When all of my items were subtotaled, which included the in store sales, the total (with tax) was $64.99. Then, the young cashier began to scan all of my coupons….and he turned to me and said my new total was $47.77. So, I paid him with $50.00 (cash, of course) and he gave me my change and receipt and said, you saved $46.43 today…and paused. He looked a little puzzled and turned the register and then back at me. I told him that was right and I spent only $47. He said “Wow – that is awesome!”
So, if NOTHING had been on sale, and I had NO coupons, nor any of my own reusable bags, my total today would have been over $94.00 — and yep — I spent less than $50.00. I also have a huge stockpile of Knorr Side Dishes, Croutons, and Pop Tarts.
When I walked into the house, I smiled at my husband and said “Now THAT was fun!!!”
