Hey everyone, thanks for joining me for this week’s finance talk! These days, most people invest. Some people invest for the purpose of making fast cash, some are in it for the long haul with retirement in their sights, and some are somewhere in the middle. No matter why you’re investing, the bottom line is, if you’re like most of us, you’re investing for something! One question that comes up a lot when it comes to investments is, “Is it better to work with a banker face to face or to invest using online platforms?”. In my humble opinion, I’ve got to say online platforms are definitely the way to go! Here are a few reasons that I’ve come to this conclusion!
Reason #1: There Are So Many Great Options
When it comes to investing face to face, there are only so many advisors close by. With the internet, you’ve got the entire world at your fingertips! There are tons of online platformed each geared towards different types of investors. For instance, you’ve got companies like Motif Investing that are great for busy investors who don’t have time to pick out each stock individually. Instead, Motif Investing offers Motifs, or pools of different stocks that are already chosen for you based on a theme! On the other hand, you’ve got platforms like K Capital who can help you the entire way.
Reason #2: Research Is Much Easier In An Online Setting
When investing, it’s important to do your research to make sure that you get the highest returns possible. While personal financial advisors and bankers may have research tools, they generally don’t share those tools with investors so they can do research on their own. However, when using an online investing platform, you’re almost always given awesome research and analysis tools that allow you to really get to know your investments and what to expect with regard to returns. Some companies even offer virtual investing so that you can test your theories before you actually start investing money behind them!
Reason #3: You Still Have Access To A Broker
When thinking about your options, the only reason that you would want to work with a broker face to face is the knowledge and advise they offer. However, that’s available online as well! Just about all online investing platforms give investors the option of making broker assisted trades. Some companies charge $25 or $30 for this option while others offer it free to all of their investors. None the less, you don’t have to go to the bank to get great advice from a broker with tons of experience. That’s available online!
The truth is, I could write a book about all the advantages of investing online rather than in a bank. It’s just the more financially sound way to go! Not only are there tons of different platforms, each designed for a specific type of consumer, there’s much better research and analysis tools online. And, you don’t have to give up the ability to take advice from a broker to use the tools. All around, online investing is the better way to go, and what I believe to be the future of investing as we know it!
