So, I recently asked those of you on my Facebook Page — what would you like to know about me? I love to share more than just deals and so I thought that this could be fun! I thought I’d share something about myself today and answer a few of those burning questions you might have.
Before we start, here is some background on me. First and foremost – I am a mom. I have 3 children – Emma 6, Garrett 3 and Charlotte 2. My children ALWAYS come first. They always have an always will. So, that means that I may not be able to share the same deal you see on all of the other sites – or do so later than everyone else. I am also the wife to an amazing and supportive husband. I am human. I make mistakes. I might add incorrectly, forget a link, or even link to the wrong site from time to time. I am far from perfect and am so grateful that I have wonderful readers who know that and still love me in spite of it all. I just do the best that I can!
Now, onto some of your questions. I’ll answer 5 of them today and do so each week for the next few weeks. Ready? Here we go!!!
What part of the country are you from? I currently live in the Kansas City, Missouri metro area. I was born in Minnesota, but was raised in Northwestern Kansas. However, I do not share deals only in my own backyard. I find deals that can be found all over the country — some aren’t even in our own region.
How long have you been finding deals? I have used coupons and worked deals for years. However, I only got very serious with it when my husband and I were began working our way out of debt in 2007. I started my site in January 2009 so I could share my findings with others.
How do you find your deals and coupons? I have an amazing network of bloggers with whom I work. If they find a good deal, they share it with me. I have several forums and sites I belong to where I can find deals. I also receive a plethera of emails from companies and work on putting deals together based upon what I find in those emails.
Do you travel several places to get the best deals? Honestly. No. I shop at my local stores to get my deals. When I add in my travel time and gasoline costs to chase the deals, I normally end up breaking even. So, rather than spend my time driving all over the city, I work the deals closest to home and let the rest slide.
What is the one tip I have for people that they overlook? That is an excellent question and there isn’t just one thing that I think people miss. However, my biggest tip I always have is to tell people to carefully read the coupon. Just because you see a picture of something on there, doesn’t mean that it is necessarily the product you must by. Sometimes they don’t exclude trial sized items and so you can use the coupon and get things for free.
So, do you have a question for me? If so, I’d love to answer it for you next weekend! Send an email to me – email@example.com! I love to hear from my readers!!
