Do you know if you will get the .50 cents off of an item if you purchase more than 10 of these items?
Jaime Rogerssays
Kim – Yes, you will get .50 cents off each item if you purchase 10 items. These prices already reflect the “sale” price (including the .50 cents off). The ad did state that it was only one offer per customer so not sure if that mean per shopping trip or per Price Chopper Rewards card …

The way I read it, I understood it to mean there was a limit of one offer, so discounts would only be applied to 10 items. I’m not sure if the deal is tied to your Chopper Shopper card, meaning you can only get the deal one time total, or if it is a limit per purchase — as in you could return to the store the next day and repeat the deal. Some good deals here, though, so I may try!

Jaime- Every time they have had a limit on items we use a lot of, my husband or I will usually make a trip once a day and purchase those using the same chopper card and have never had them say a word. I am assuming it would work similar with this deal.

My Lenexa Price Chopper automatically rings up the prices, so I’ve done an order with my shopper card and gotten salad dressing cheap or free, paid and did a second transaction, without my shopper card, and it was the correct price, and used my extra coupon on the second transaction.
As a couponer I have complained to Price Chopper because I realized we are not fully getting credit for the .05 gas cents rewards program. We’re getting penalized for using coupons. Example, my total has been $93.55 and I’m only getting credited for spending $50-$99.99 and again I had a total that was $99.23, again, only credited for spending $50-$99.99, however I had $10+ worth of coupons. It’s a pain, but it’s reasonable to not turn over my coupons, then go to customer service and have cash handed back to me for my coupons. I know it’s semi-petty, but really it’s just like with some of the coupon deals, it’s offered/advertised, and I’d like to get it correctly credited.
Traciesays
If you look at any rewards program, CVS, Walgreens, etc, they ALL run like this. Even though they are reimbursed for the value of the coupon, you only get credit for what you spend out of your pocket. They all also round down rather than up. And while I do understand your frustration, if you were that close, you could easily pick up 2 more items and have them add it to your total and you’d go over the $99.99 threshhold to hit the next level.
I must say that I completely disagree with what you are doing with the coupon use – just to save an extra $0.05 a gallon. I am stating here that this is not a practice that I can condone nor to do I recommend that anyone do this.

At SunFresh there were papers on their ad racks(right when you walk in) with coupons for the $1 off Capri Sun Plus many many more MFG Qs. I was able to get Capi Sun for .49 a box last night at Price Chopper.

Hi Lisa,
We appreciate your business and that you’re participating in Price Chopper’s Fuel REWARDS program! We welcome your coupons and appreciate the efforts that many of you put into couponing. The Fuel REWARDS program is designed to reward you for what you spend with us. Please understand that Fuel REWARDS are issued based on your total due. In the situation you referenced, the customer service representative adjusts your points balance if the “cash back” from the coupons places you into a different earning bracket. Our desire is to provide Kansas City with REWARDS for shopping with Price Chopper. While we hear your frustration, please know that we strive to provide you and every customer with the highest level of customer service as well as fair and honest savings opportunities. We love hearing from you!

Hi Ashley H,
Would these coupons be at all Sun Fresh locations…wasn’t sure if this is a regional thing. I don’t really shop there but I think we have one close by.

Coupons can vary from store to store. You can just call the one close to you and see if they have them.

It was my understanding that my coupons are like money! The stores are paid back the total amount from the coupon plus .08… I see that the total before coupons is what we “spend” we are just wise with our money and take the time to clip sort and match all the sales with the correct coupon……
I’ve heard from a few people that this same issue bothers them…….
It is a great program but I see where we are paying the whole bill just being more wise than lots of others!!!
ps I do love the ad this week!

These were at the Sun Fresh on North Oak. Kansas City North. I am not sure if they are at all stores but I would think they would be. It says good at this location on the front BUT they are MFG Q’s. Let me know if you find them! It’s 4 pages of really decent Q’s.

I agree with Ashley, coupons are a form of payment that you get reimbursed for, so why penalize the shopper for using coupons? Are you applying the same rules when people pay for part of their shopping order with WIC checks and food stamps?

Thanks guys, I figured I wasn’t the only one seeing things this way, how we should be getting the points based on our original total, since they are reimbursed for their coupons!

This is why I shop at dillons,(kroger) my fuel points are on the total before my coupons, and I don’t have to spend over $50 to earn points. As well as saving up to $1.00 a gallon.

And this is why I primarily shop Hy-Vee; our Hy-Vee gives a variable per gallon discount with ANY purchase at the Hy-Vee fuel station, and it always seems to be at least 5 cents off per gallon, sometimes as much as $0.12, depending on the day and your total purchase, and the discount is good for one use anytime throughout the whole month. My fuel points at PC often don’t even show up on my receipt — we have shopped there occasionally for MONTHS without a single fuel point showing up. I just didn’t bother to ask PC customer service about it, b/c we do the majority of our shopping, and fueling up, at Hy-Vee.

I want to voice as well that I am disappointed by PC REWARDS program. I frequently shop there but rarely spend 50 in one trip so I don’t get any gas rewards. And, the one time I had a 5 cent discount on gas it did not show up on my card at QT. VERY disappointing!!!
