Over the past few weeks, I’ve been trying out yet another new electronic “toy.” This time, I have been using a Verizon Motorola Droid M. Being an iPhone user for a while now, it was kind of nice to be able to try something new!
Of course, I got started using some of my favorite apps like Facebook and Gmail. I really liked how lightning fast the browser was and how easily it was to navigate the phone. However, the one thing I noticed right away was how much larger the screen was. It is 4.3″ edge to edge. I really love that feature and how crisp the screen is. The graphics are just amazing.
I also noticed that this fit in my hand quite nicely. See, I have very small hands, so I need a phone that I can actually grasp. Sure, I love my iPhone, but I love how much easier this one is to carry. It fits for me but also for my husband. Not sure how they did it, but it just worked for both of us.
The biggest thing I noticed is that it durable. Part of my testing items is putting them through “the mom test”….which means allowing my kids to try their own apps and games. Of course, kids will be kids which means that they will drop it. It ended up being dropped a couple of times – without a scratch. The Corning Gorilla Glass which they use was definitely a wise investment on the part of Motorola. Well done!!
Of course, the way we all use our phones is as unique as we are. There are just as many apps on Google Play as there on iTunes. You can find an app for just about anything you need — schedules, games, movies, shopping — you name it and there is one that will fit the bill for you!
The phone costs $99 with a new two year activation. When I compare that to what I paid for my iPhone, well, let’s just say I want to kick myself as I paid much more than that! This is certainly affordable and easy to figure out, so if you are new to smart phones, you won’t have too much investment, nor too large a learning curve.
I am participating in the Verizon Midwest Savvy Savers program and have been provided with a wireless device and size months of service in exchange for my honest opinions about the product.
