Now through May 4th, you can visit your local Sam’s Club without a membership. This is a great way to check out the store and compare prices for the products you normally purchase, so you can determine if it would be a good investment for you or not.
You will need to register as a guest before you visit, and you can do that HERE. Keep in mind that if you do want to make any purchases, you will be charged a non-member surcharge, so you will pay more at checkout.
Things to keep in mind when looking at warehouse deals:
Do not fall for big boxes. It is easy to see a 40 count of your favorite granola bar and think it is a deal. You also need to know if it really is a deal (see next tip).
Know what you pay before you shop. This goes along with the tip above. When you see those packages, the price tag usually shows the price per unit. Make sure you know what you would pay at your grocery store (with a coupon) to know if the warehouse price is higher or lower.
Make sure your product won’t go bad. Sure, it might look like a deal to pick up that 5 lb jar of mayo, but can you eat it before it would go bad? If you end up throwing food away, then it is never a good deal.
Shop with a friend. A great way to save money is to take along a friend and you can purchase items you both want and then split the cost. That ensures you both get a good deal and are not over buying.
