spring chick cupcake

We love these adorable spring chick cupcakes!

Even if you don’t know how to decorate or ice cakes very well, you can still make these for your get together.  When it comes to cakes and cupcakes, I really want to be able to decorate them prettily, but most times it doesn’t turn out how I want. These are simple. I promise!

Another thing I really like about these cupcakes is that there isn’t a ton of icing on each one. Cupcakes can be so overfilled with icing once they’re decorated, that it’s nice to have a decorated cupcake that isn’t overloaded.

Other desserts to try:

  • Birthday Cake Oreo Truffles
  • Minecraft Trifle
  • Crazy Candy Cupcakes

HOW TO MAKE SPRING CHICK CUPCAKES

SUPPLIES

White cake mix
Cupcake liners
Piping Bag
Wide mouth icing tip
Yellow frosting
Multi-Color pearl sprinkles
Orange dot sprinkles
Black food coloring or icing

DIRECTIONS

Bake cupcakes according to package instructions and allow to cool completely.  Fill your piping bag (with a wide tip) with yellow frosting.

Hold the tip against the middle of the cupcake, and gentle squeeze until you have a gat little chick body. Then place the frosting tip on the top of that fat chick body, and repeat the same steps to make a cute little chick head. Think of it as building a spring snowman. (Note that if you do not have a piping bag, you can do this with a large ziploc bag – just cut a larger hole in one corner of the bag).

Use orange pearl sprinkles to make each little foot.  To make the I nose cut a triangle out of one of the flat orange sprinkles and press it into the frosting.  Use a toothpick and add a dot of black to create the eyes.

That’s it! That’s all it takes to make the cute little spring chick cupcakes! They’re adorable, and so very fast and easy. My favorite kind of holiday dessert!

These are adorable for spring and Easter – pretty simple to make too.
