Styrofoam Cup Snowman

If you want to make a quick and painless craft with your kids during the winter, you need to make a Styrofoam Cup Snowman! They’re so simple to make and they turn out so cute! My kids have made armies of these and have used them for everything from mini bowling pins, to hand puppets!

This craft doesn’t take a lot of prep or weird expensive supplies either. I love being able to make crafts from things I already have on hand around the house. Let’s make a Styrofoam Cup Snowman!

Styrofoam Cup Snowman

You will need:

Pipe Cleaners
Permanent Markers
Styrofoam Cups
Scissors
Pom-Poms
Hot Glue or School Glue

To make a Styrofoam Cup Snowman, first you need to pick out what color pipe cleaner you want to use for his earmuffs, and two pom-poms to complete his earmuffs. Cut the pipe cleaner to be about 4″ long. Press the ends of the pipe cleaner into the bottom of the cup to make an arch for his earmuffs. You can use glue to secure these if you want, but you really don’t need to, as they stay put on their own without glue to hold them in.

Then, glue on the pom poms on either side of his head. Use a black permanent marker to draw on his eyes, mouth, and buttons. Then use an orange marker to draw on his carrot nose. You can also use a pink marker to make his cheeks nice and rosy if you want as well.

Give your Styrofoam Cup Snowman time to dry before playing with him. Mix and match colors to make them fun. You could even use different sized cups if you wanted to make different size snowmen.
