Lately, my daughter has been all about super heroes. She loves to pretend to be them, she loves to learn about them, she loves to dress up, she loves to watch them! I decided to let her help me make some fun super hero wall art. It was super easy, and something she could help with, and was so much fun to do!
(4) 8×10 wrapped canvases
(4) sheets of computer paper
Foam paint brush
First, decide which super heroes you want included. We opted for Thor, Iron Man, Black Widow, and Hulk. Do a Google image search for whichever character you decide on. For best results, click, “search tools”, then select, “size”, then select, “medium.” This will make sure the images you choose will fit nicely on an 8 x 10 canvas. Print your images in grey scale. This should be a setting you can select on your printer.
Next, select the colors of the canvas. We chose purple for Hulk, yellow for Iron Man, red for Black Widow, and blue for Thor. Using the foam brush, paint each canvas the color you would like. Allow to dry for 30 minutes.
While your paint is drying, carefully cut out the printed images, making sure to remove any backgrounds. This allows the super hero to pop on the canvas.
Once the canvas is dry, use a sponge brush and paint a generous layer of mod podge onto the the back of one of the super hero cut outs. Place it onto the canvas (any placement you want). Smooth it out carefully to remove all wrinkles.
Once it looks good, paint a layer of mod podge over the entire canvas. This will adhere the edges and give the canvas a glossy feel. Repeat these steps for each super hero.
When done, hang all four together on your wall as a single collage or around the room in any way you like! This is much more affordable than purchasing them — just $10 for the entire project!!
