I went today and got 2 Tag books. I used two $5 coupons. On my receipt, it takes off each $5 coupon, and $9.99 for one book, but it still charges me $9.99 for the two books. When I have had problems with coupons before, the Guest Services managers act like I am just stupid and don’t understand why my items cost how much they do. I feel like Target just always has a way to screw couponers.

This is the coupon issue that we’ve talked about before. You really have to watch them and pay close attention until this matter gets taken care of. I know it is frustrating, but I am glad that you noticed.

I just checked my receipt and it showed the same thing as you said, but as I did the math it came out that I got them for free. I think Target’s receipts are the hardest too read and for the most part their employees don’t even understand them. I would think there has to be an easier way for them to do them.

I could not print the Tag book coupons. It said there are no prints left for this campaign.

my receipt has
tag book $9.99
mfr coupon $5.00-
refund value $5.00
tag book $9.99
mfr coupon $5.00-
refund vaue $4.99
package subtotal $19.98
ncf tag book free $9.98-
package total $9.99
the subtotal should be $9.98, then they take off $9.99 for the free book, which they would have to adjust one cent to not go over. My refund value should be $0.00. The scanned the coupons, but at the end, the register just didn’t take the $10 off. I would have caught it if that was the only thing I bought, but I spent $80 and saved $65, so lots of coupons were being taken off. I am going to call the 800 number and speak to them first, to get a reference number, so when I go in the store and they act like I’m from outer soace, they can call their corporate office, with my referance and it it should be straightened out then. By me giving them $10 in coupons, and them not taking it off my total, it’s like I payed them $10 for nothing, b/c they will still get reimbursed for it.

Yes – they did overcharge you. This is part of that issue where the computer tries to manually adjust values down to avoid overages….so they have to manually override this all to get the total to come out correctly.
